That’s why we actively talk to every supplier about their sustainability practices, from how raw materials are sourced to how products are packaged.
We also recognise that sustainable and eco-friendly can mean different things depending on the product. For us, that includes:
- Responsibly managed forests (e.g. FSC certification)
- Recycled or recyclable materials
- Low-impact production processes
- Ethical and transparent supply chains
- Partnering with suppliers who offset their carbon emissions and reduce their footprint

Educational Essentials Ltd was founded in 2003 from Mark’s vision to create a family-based Kiwi business dedicated to serving the educational sector, built on the strong ethic of true customer service.

Educational Essentials Ltd was founded in 2003 from Mark’s vision to create a family-based Kiwi business dedicated to serving the educational sector, built on the strong ethic of true customer service.
Mark led the business while his partner Julie became the first sales representative, introducing our products to schools and educators across New Zealand.
What began as a small catalogue business soon grew into a thriving operation, eventually moving into our warehouse in Wiri — where we are still proudly based today.
Mark and Julie’s commitment to honest service, strong relationships, and genuine care for customers laid the foundations of Educational Essentials Ltd. Those values remain at the heart of our company, carried forward by our dedicated team who continue to build on what they started
